Opening your iDRY Kiln for the First Time

When you receive your iDRY kiln, everything you need to dry materials comes shipped inside of the kiln itself. When your kiln arrives, both of the handwheels will be tightened to keep the door closed. The first thing to do is to loosen the handwheels only enough to swing past the latch, as going any further will cause the wheel to come off the threads which can be a nuisance. Once you have the handwheels loosened, open the door and take a look inside!

Upon opening the door to look inside, you will see that all of the components required for operating your iDRY kiln are shipped inside the kiln itself. To start with, you will have the box that the vacuum pump air filter and exhaust muffler is shipped inside of. Begin by opening that up, and attaching the air filter to the exhaust pipe on the back of the machine. This can be attached by either dry-fitting it into the pipe, or by gluing it into place. Whichever option you choose to go with, make sure that the air filter is facing upright to help prevent condensation from dripping onto your floor.

The other components that are included inside the kiln are the external track, the internal trolley that the material goes on, and the internal trolley bridge sections. Everything will be ratchet strapped inside the kiln and ready to be removed. It’s as simple as dragging the whole trolley frame out, placing it in front of the kiln door, getting your tracks lined up with your bridge section, and getting your materials ready for drying!

Always be aware that if you have any concerns or questions about the setup or operation of your iDRY kiln, you can reach out to iDRY by phone or through their website and their staff will be happy to assist with any questions that you might have.
